Hank Willis Thomas

Thomas is a conceptual photographic artist. His work was recently published in the Lens blog for the NYTimes. His work deals with race in a way that requires conversation. In fact he states, “I take pleasure in talking about things that people say we don’t need to talk about anymore. Just because we think we’re over race, doesn’t really mean that we’re over it.”

I particularly think his series, "Branded", is relevant because of our icon conversation this week.
